The Solitaire quilt pattern is designed to be quick, easy, and really great for a beginner! It includes 5 different sizes: Baby, Lap, Throw, Twin, and Queen/King quilt sizes. This quilt pattern is block-based, so it’s easy to make it your own if you want a size not listed in the pattern.
One neat thing about the Solitaire pattern is that it’s an AccuQuilt-friendly quilt pattern, but you do NOT need an AccuQuilt GO!® machine to make it! The main pattern is written using traditional cutting methods, but there’s an extra page with adjusted fabric requirements, cutting instructions, and sewing steps just for all you AccuQuilt GO!® users out there.
Half Square Triangle quilt blocks are some of my favorite foundational quilt blocks, and even were what I used to make my first quilt! The Solitaire Quilt Pattern features Half Square Triangles and teaches how to make them using the 8-at-a-time method. Solitaire Quilt Pattern Skill Level
The Solitaire Quilt Pattern was designed to be very easy! It uses relatively large block sizes which makes it a quick finish and is a perfect beginner quilt pattern. The first quilt I ever made used Half Square Triangles, and I think that with the help of the video tutorials, you’ll be able to make them too!
The Solitaire Quilt is AccuQuilt Friendly!
If you’ve been following me for some time, you might know how much I rely on my AccuQuilt GO!® to give me precise cuts while quilting. I know not very many people might have access to an AccuQuilt GO!® fabric cutting machine, so the pattern is written out with traditional cutting instructions, BUT for those of you with AccuQuilt, I’ve added a special treat! I calculated adjusted fabric requirements, show which dies you will need, and share different instructions for cutting and constructing your quilt blocks included in the Solitaire pattern.
